Crystal Pulido, LMHC
What type of clients do you work with?
I especially enjoy working with teens (age 13+) and young adults and am happy to work with other adults in all walks of life. During emerging adulthood, we navigate so many life changes from new relationships to career exploration and identity formation. It can be invaluable to work with a counselor that can help support you through your process. I have a special interest in personal growth work, interpersonal relationships, and trauma. I have experience working with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self-harm, trauma, grief/loss, and multicultural issues.
What would you like clients to know about how you work?
My approach is person-centered, meaning our time together will be focused on issues that you want to address in ways that feel most helpful for you. I work collaboratively with my clients to help increase self-awareness and personal discovery. I draw from a variety of therapeutic perspectives including attachment theory, Jungian-informed psychotherapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems theory, and Adlerian psychotherapy. Most importantly, I believe in creating a safe space for my clients to explore their internal process without facing judgment. I think it's in this space that we're able to discover our true desires and begin to work toward manifesting the changes we want to see in our lives. I enjoy incorporating multicultural perspectives, mindfulness-based practices, and experiential exercises (such as music and art) to add depth to our work together and support lasting change.
What days of the week do you see clients?
(Fremont Seattle office Wednesdays and Saturdays. Please visit my personal website for times available in Seattle.)
Do you accept insurance?
Currently, I do not work directly with insurance companies. However, I am able to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out-of-network coverage. Please call your insurance company directly to find out details about your coverage.
My standard rates are $100 per 50-minute session, $120 per 80-minute session. Discounted $100 for the initial intake session (90 minutes).
I do offer student discounted counseling rates and sliding scale rates for special circumstances. Please do not hesitate to inquire if finances are the major obstacle keeping you from beginning the counseling process.
I received my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle in 2016. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Seattle Pacific University in Psychology in 2011. I worked as an intern/extern in the counseling center at Seattle Pacific University from 2015-2017 and provided clients with short and long-term individual counseling, crisis intervention, and facilitated mental health related educational events on campus. I also worked as a volunteer at the King County Crisis Clinic from 2011-2012 and helped callers manage crisis situations, suicidal thoughts, and connect with community resources.
What else are you passionate about?
I am passionate about deep meaningful relationships and enjoy spending time with friends and family. I have two wonderful feline fur babies and love playing and caring for them. When the sun is out, I enjoy outdoor activities (such as rockhounding, canoeing, and gardening) and I love listening to live music. During cold rainy days, I love to curl up inside with a good movie and cup of tea or get creative through DIY craft projects or crocheting.
